Try taking the Mersey Ferries across the river mersey, or stroll around the famous Albert Dock Area. Here you will find plenty of Cafe's, Clubs and bars, with a good selection of shops. It is also home to the Tate Art Gallery. Further up in the city centre you have the famous Mathew Street and Cavern Club where the Beatles first started off, and again plenty of bars cafes and clubs.
For the gay crowd there are many bars and clubs such as LISBON, GBAR, FOUNDATION, CHICAGO, CURZON and many more all within 2 mins of each other.
Fancy something a little different? A short drive away is Knowsley Safari Park, where you can see all the wild animals in a secure park. Also a short train ride from Liverpool is Chester Zoo.
For those who like shopping, visit Bold Street & Church Street within the city centre.
Liverpool is on the coast and therefore there are many beaches to choose from, take Merseyrail underground to New Brighton, Harrison Drive, Crosby, Southport or Ainsdale (about 25 mins on train) and relax all day on the beach. Sand dunes at Ainsdale are recommended where you will also find a nature trail and the home of the endangured Red Squirrel.
Speke Hall is located in south liverpool, here is an old Tudor Mansion now open to the public and well worth a visit, as is Croxteth Country Park.
Transport in Liverpool is easily accesible and cheap too. Those on a budget try excellent food and large portions for a cheap price at KIMO's on Mount Pleasent near the Adelphi Hotel. This is an area popular with students so prices are low !!! Just what crew like.
