Quick facts about Dublin. It is the largest city in Ireland and also the capital of the Republic of Ireland. In 2007, it was voted the friendliest city in Europe. The area around St. Stephen's Green - especially Harcourt Street is the centre for some of the most popular nightclubs and pubs in Dublin. The city centre has several shopping districts, including Grafton Street and Henry Street and the adjacent Stephen's Green Shopping Centre, Jervis Shopping Centre and newly refurbished Ilac Shopping Centre.




BARS/ NIGHTCLUBS

Dawson Street, just off St. Stephens Green is very popular with the trendy set in Dublin. Three main bars Cafe en Seine, good lively bar, which stays open till three. Free in, but a pint of beer costs over €6 after 11:00. Ron Blacks, But be warned - the prices can be steep. Samsara, is one of the largest bars in the city. Decorated in a Moroccan theme.

If you're a smoker & want to enjoy a cigarette with your pint, then the best beer garden in the city is The Harcourt Hotel. Plenty of outdoor heaters to keep you warm during the winter. If you want to carry on into the night, then you can head downstairs to the extremely popular nightclub called DTWO.

Trendy chilled out drinks go to the Bailey just off Grafton Street.

Formula one racing driver Eddie Irvine also has a bar off Grafton Street called Cocoon which is also popular.

Brand new club on Harcourt Street called Crystal it's the place to go in Dublin. Also has amazing outdoor section for smokers.

For celeb spotting go to Lilies Bordello on Grafton Street or Reynards. Need to be well dressed or on the guest list to get in.
